Baptism
Baptism is a vital step for a person who is following Jesus. It's not just a public declaration of a personal faith, but it's also an outward symbol of an inward reality.
When we see baptism in the Bible, we almost always see this pattern: "they believed...and they were baptized..." Baptism, then, was seen as the natural outcome for someone who professed faith in Jesus.
Not only do we see this pattern in Scripture, but Jesus taught his disciples that Baptism was important to their mission: "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19). For all of these reasons, we believe that baptism is important for the faith of every believer.

If you're interested in understanding more about baptism, or if you're ready to get baptized, please sign up. We ask that everyone who desires to be baptized first attends our Discipleship Beginnings class, where we will discuss more of the details surrounding baptism in one of the sessions. (We have designed this class to be for those high school aged and up.)

Membership
We believe that every person who entrusts his or her life to Jesus Christ is a member of His worldwide body of believers, known as The Church. Having said that, the Bible clearly requires Christ-followers to actively engage and partner with a local gathering of believers, known as a church. Cross Point Church, as a local church, expects members to invest their spiritual gifts, resources, time, and money to reach every man, woman, and child through repeated opportunities to hear and see the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Some of the requirements for membership at The Chapel are:
- Entrusting your life to Jesus Christ as a believer and follower.
- Attending the Membership Class. This is held on a Sunday morning during one of our worship services.
